The
NAB has informed the Jamali Government that it has 165 vehicles,
including 22 luxury Toyota cars, for the use of its staff
members and that a sum of Rs 5 millions is being spent on
their maintenance per year. It further informed the government
that it has bought 54 new vehicles at a cost of Rs 50 millions
during the last three years.
The NAB also informed that
annual cost of maintenance of the said vehicles went up from
Rs 3.4 million in 1999-2000 to Rs 5.6 million in 2001-2002.
These details about NAB vehicles
have been presented in the National Assembly in reply to a
question raised by MNA Ch. Sher Ali who had sought details
of the total number, model and make up of vehicles being used
by the staff of the NAB together with the information of expenditures
being incurred on their maintenance during the last three
years and the number of the vehicles purchased by the NAB
in that period.
Details of vehicles are: Hino
bus 2, Hino Coaster 3, Toyota Hiace 3, Toyota Hilux (single
cabin) 14, Toyota Hi Lux (double cabin) 1, Toyota Corolla
cars 22, Suzuki Mehran 15, Suzuki Margalla 3, Zuzuki van 1,
Zuzuki Khyber cars 3, Nissan Sunny cars 3, Mitsubishi Lancer
car 1, Toyota Camery car 1, Land Cruisers 2, Pajeros 5 and
Suzuki Jeep Potohar 84.
The NAB has informed the government
that repair and maintenance of the transport during the last
three years is as follow.
NAB Islamabad consumed Rs 3.4
million in 1999-2000, Rs 1.2 million in 2000-2001 and in 2001-2002,
Rs 2.2 million.
NAB Karachi spent Rs 1.1 million
in 2000-2001 and Rs 673,545 million in 2001-2002.
NAB Lahore spent Rs 1.2 million
in 2000-2001 and Rs 1.3 million in 2001-2002
NAB Rawalpindi spent Rs 590329
in 2000-2001 and Rs 602567 in 2001-2002.
NAB Peshawar spent Rs 515,265
in 2000-2001 and Rs 400,000 in 2001-2002.
NAB Balochistan spent Rs 171,820
in 2000-2001 on repair and maintenance of cars and Rs 369,496
in 2001-2002.
