The terrorists arrested in Gujrat operation
are suspected to be key members of Al-Qaeda and some of
the close associates of Mulla Omar, sources said. Those
held were subjected to a closed-door investigation where
they made important revelations. No police official upto
the DSP rank or any mediamen were allowed to join the
probe and all the findings acquired so far are being kept
secret.
The sources said a huge quantity of explosive material
was recovered from the custody of the alleged terrorists.
Foreign currency notes including US dollars and Euro bonds
worth eight millions in Pak rupees were also recovered
from the house they were residing in. A room of the house
had modern network system and world maps in English, Urdu
and Arabic language could be seen pasted on its walls.
The law enforcement agencies also took into custody a
mobile SIM and some imported food articles from the room.
The terrorist network in Gujrat came to surface when law
enforcement agencies chased a car (LOZ-1926) from Islamabad
to the operation site. When contacted, police high-ups
refused to say anything terming the case very sensitive.
The sources said the alleged terrorists had recorded their
fake names with the police and were hiding their original
names. The house where the operation was conducted was
completely destroyed. Thousands of bullet and teargas
shells were seen scattered in the building.
